2 Common Sources of Acai Juice
Monday, March 15th, 2010It is high in natural antioxidants, it has omega fatty acids, and best of all it tastes good. Because of the media spotlight, many people want to cash in on the growing market. That means that you, the consumer, need to be wary and aware. It is best to search for bottles that are made of glass to avoid plastic compounds from leaching into your juice.
The Store
You can find acai juice blends in just about every healthy food store and many shopping warehouses. The price varies tremendously from place to place and from product to product.
The first thing you need to do is check to see that acai berry juice or pulp is the primary ingredient. It is normal to find acai juice blended with other juices that also have antioxidant powers, but you still want to find acai first.
While comparing bottles and prices try to find bottles that have a similar percentage of acai juice. A bottle of pure acai juice will understandably cost much more than one that has 10% acai berry pulp inside. If it that diluted juice isn’t cheaper, you shouldn’t be buying it.
The Internet
Perhaps, the best place to find acai juice is online. Just like in a store, you are going to want to check on the percentage of acai in the bottle. No point in paying a premium for something you don’t get.
Acai is most commonly bottled with grape juice, but it should still be the first ingredient on the list. Expect to pay more for a bottle that has a higher percentage of acai puree inside.
